Day One

Women in chair - bound with ropeMaybe you feel stuck in your relationship, career, life,
even though you know you’re capable of more;

Maybe you’ve reached a plateau and haven’t been able to breakthrough;

Maybe you’re tired of working so. very. hard,
just to be passed over for a roles or promotions;

Maybe you’re worn out from working to gain acceptance,
only to continue to be criticized by a parent, spouse, manager…

And maybe you get home at the end of a day and pour another glass of wine,
or add another shot of Bailey’s to your coffee,
or scroll social media,
or binge a new series…

Only to realized you’ve watched five dramas and you’re stressed for fictitious people,

Or you’ve finished (another) bottle of wine,

And tomorrow is now a couple of hours away.

And maybe, today is the day you finally say, “Enough,” and you’re ready to put yourself first.

Hi. I'm Christine

Eight years sober and living a full life I couldn’t have dreamed of. Before my “enough” day, I lost years by limiting myself with burdens of my past. With no way to process what was holding me back, I was numbing out in many destructive ways. All while adding more complexity, believing that would finally make me worthy enough to be loved, accepted, promotable.

My story isn’t yours, but I know when we work together you’ll design a life worth showing up for, everyday.

Why Acting Your Way?

This isn’t “fake it ‘til you make it.”
Einstein, Fuller, and others are credited with the quip,

“It’s easier to act your way into a new way of thinking than to think your way into a new way of acting.”

Actions do speak louder than words, so it is fair to allow this applies to our inner self work as much as influencing an organization to make changes. On practicing charity, C.S. Lewis wrote, “Do not waste time bothering whether you ‘love’ your neighbor; act as if you did. As soon as we do this we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him…” If we continue further in this text (Mere Christianity, Chapter 9, Charity) Lewis was addressing right motivation here. Very much the antithesis of faking it.

This – acting our way into a new mindset – is the philosophy that guides our work. As you understand and apply tools of thought work you’ll be co-creating a life plan with discrete steps to move toward the life you know you’re meant for.
With God as your co-designer, I’ll facilitate your planning process as He directs your steps through validation or course correction.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions and answers

Are you striving to achieve where it was once easy to climb? Do you feel stuck – on a goal, at your career, in a situation, at a level of performance – and want to get to the root of what’s keeping you in the same pattern? Let’s find the friction and resolve the source.

Are you ready for the next challenge and want to work on a system to set and stay on course? As your life coach, I listen to what is said as well as for the unsaid to guide you objectively through your thought process.

Maybe. What you achieve is based first on what you think you’re capable of, followed by what you’re physically capable of, what you’re willing to change, and what you’re willing to stop/start/keep doing.

Not necessarily. And, it’s not because of a defect of character. You are smart and successful. That’s sometimes why a life coach is a powerful addition to your personal board of directors. Let’s walk together, and examine the thoughts and feelings underlying your expectations.

No, it’s not a prerequisite nor is it my goal to convert you. Our work together will honor your faith or belief system to the extent you choose.

Working with a life coach is about you and your goal(s). When we bring our relationship with Jesus to our daily lives it’s less about subordinating our concerns and more about improving our ability to bring glory to Him. Our sessions may include prayer as we invite God’s Holy Spirit to bring wisdom to our meeting or healing to a relationship. I’ll be praying for you on your journey. And, I will pray to see you as God does – as His creation, a daughter of the King.

The details will depend on your specific situation, location, and goal(s). Typically, we’ll work for 12-13 weeks, meeting for 50 minutes/week in person or by Zoom. There will be journaling, reading/listening, and other assignments between sessions.
